Ballarat Aged Care provides residential respite care for planned and emergency (where available) short term periods.
Ballarat Aged Care is the largest provider of aged care services in the region and has over 150 years' experience. Our respite services are provided in established aged care homes that are managed by registered nurses. Our ties to the public health system ensure a seamless transition is provided should any additional healthcare needs be required during a stay.
Respite residents will enjoy the light-filled buildings, beautiful gardens and meeting other residents during their stay. They also have complete access to the home’s facilities and social programs.
All Ballarat Aged Care facilities provide respite care.
Respite can be readily arranged at the other homes if the need arises and a bed is available that meets the individual’s needs.
When may respite be required:
Respite may be required when a carer needs some personal time, is ill, on holidays or unavailable for other reasons. It is intended to provide carers with a flexible, short term alternative care arrangement and is not intended as an alternative to aged care rehabilitation services or restorative care following an acute episode.
Am I eligible for respite care:
To be eligible for respite care, a person must have ACAS approval for high or low respite care.
How can I enquire/book respite care?
Respite care is booked in blocks of one week. Please contact Ballarat Aged Care to book respite in advance. Case Managers can also contact Ballarat Aged Care for respite availability and to make bookings.
