The home is divided into two houses and each is spacious and colourful. The open plan design enables residents to safely use the space while providing easy observation space for staff. There is also a specialised Snoezelen Room (sensory stimulus room) which residents can use.
Each house features:
- Light-filled atrium
- Common lounge areas with flat screen TVs and DVD players
- Large central kitchen
- Shared dining areas
- Common area that can be partitioned and used for family celebrations, birthdays and special occasions.
The home is located on secure, well-manicured grounds that allow residents to enjoy time outside safely and freely. The therapy program is extensive and includes Montessori activities. Each resident can participate in activities that are designed to meet their individual needs and interests. A range of allied health services are provided, including dietetics and speech pathology.
Bill Crawford Lodge has 15 beds per house, with eight single rooms with private ensuites, eight single rooms with private toilet and shared ensuite and seven double rooms with shared ensuites. Our double rooms are perfect for couples and are often enjoyed by individuals who form friendships with their ‘room mate’. Residents are encouraged to personalise their space with small furniture items, soft furnishings, photographs and mementos from home to make their room their own. External doors are fitted with electronic key pads.
